October 29, 2009 (Thursday)
, 6:30 PM-8:30 PM.  Joel Lane House Tavern Party, corner of W. Hargett Street and St. Mary's Street, Raleigh.  The Joel Lane Museum House is Raleigh's oldest house (early 1770s) and the birthplace of North Carolina's Capital.  Food provided by Irregardless Cafe, and beer by the Boylan Bridge Brew Pub.


October 17, 2009 (Saturday)
, 5:30 PM-9:30 PM.  Scare on the Square, State Capitol Building, Raleigh. Fun Halloween party for kids and adults, with ghost tours of the 1840 Capitol Building.

July 17-19, 2009Alleghany County Fiddlers' Convention, Sparta, N.C. Once again Becky and Robin hosted a great weekend, and we made the cut!. Photos from the event.

June 12, 2009 (Friday)
, Noon - 2 PM. State Capitol Birthday Celebration, Capitol Square, Downtown Raleigh. The event marks the 169th anniversary of the Capitol, with birthday cake and activities and games. 
We'll be outside on the square, and will play some of the tunes heard at parties and galas around Raleigh when the Capitol was dedicated in 1840.

June 5, 2009 (Friday), 6 PM-9 PM.  First Friday and Portraits of Raleigh Exhibit Opening, Raleigh City Museum, Briggs Building, Fayetteville Street, Raleigh.

May 28, 2009 (Thursday), 6 PM-9 PM.  Fund Raiser, Raleigh City Museum, Briggs Building, Fayetteville Street, Raleigh.

May 3, 2009 (Sunday), 3 PM-7 PM.  Gala in the Garden, J.C. Raulston Arboretum, Beryl Road, Raleigh. This will be our fifth appearance at various fundraisers for this wonderful garden maintained by the Department of Horticultural Science at N.C. State University.

April 5, 2009 (Sunday).  Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, Durham, Armory Building, 1-3 PM. We'll be the background music at the awards picnic Sunday afternoon.

March 21, 2009 (Saturday). St. Patrick's Day Parade, Raleigh. Kurt will be driving his tractor again for our fifth appearance at the event. Photos from the event.

March 6, 2009 (Friday), 6 PM to 9 PM, exhibit opening of "Portraits of Raleigh" at the Raleigh City Museum (Briggs Building, 220 Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh).

December 31, 2008 (Wednesday)First Night , Downtown Raleigh.  This is Raleigh's big annual New Year's celebration, with lots of activities and entertainment at several locations downtown. We'll be playing at the Raleigh City Museum (Briggs Building, Fayetteville Street), 7:15-9:15 PM.

December 13, 2008 (Saturday). "Celebrate Me Home: An Artful Holiday Festival of North Carolina Authors and Artists," sponsored by the North Carolina Arts Council, Quail Ridge Books and Music, Ridgewood Shopping Center, Raleigh. Photos from the event.

June 6, 2008 (Friday). St. Mary's School, Library, Raleigh, 6 PM.  Art opening for Betty Adams, retired art professor at St. Mary's, and David Eichenberger. In conjunction with Raleigh's monthly First Friday art walk event. We'll play background music for the opening. Betty Adams is Kurt's mom; David Eichenberger is his nephew. Photos from the event.

December 7, 2007 (Friday). Red Ribbon Ball, North Carolina Museum of History, downtown Raleigh, 6 PM. This is a benefit for the Alliance of Aids Services - Carolina. We'll play the wine reception 6-7 PM. Photos from the event.

November 4, 2007 (Sunday)Benefit for Hope Planation at Oaklana, a plantation house at Roxobel, Bertie County, in northeastern N.C. Oaklana is about 20 miles from Hope Plantation. We'll be playing 10 AM to 2 PM. A second event will take place a 4PM at Hope with a string quartet from the N.C. Symphony. Photos from the event.

Boylan Heights Neighborhood Centennial Tour, Raleigh. 1 PM- 5 PM. We'll be playing on the lawn of Montfort Hall on Boylan Avenue, the 1858 home of William Montfort Boylan, for whom the street and neighborhood were named. Charley and Heidi live in Boylan Heights. Photos from the event.

Celebrate North Carolina Wines Festival, Raulston Arboretum, Raleigh. 3-5:30 PM. We'll provide background music for the festivities. Photos from the event.

September 7, 2006.
UNC-Chapel Hill. We'll visit Bill Ferris's class on Southern Music at 8 AM, and play a public concert on the terrace behind Graham Memorial at noon. Photos from the event.

July 21-22, 2006
. Alleghany County Fiddlers' Convention, Sparta, N.C.  This year we will not be the Nosmo King Band. Click on "Contest Info" for a photo of Anne, Vicky, and Wade taken at the 2005 festival (second picture from top). Photos from the weekend.

May 26-28, 2006 (Memorial Day Weekend). Fiddler's Grove, Union Grove, N.C.  We won't play as a band on stage, but some of us may be playing with Ivan Mann's Hard Cider String Band, and there will be a lot of music at the campsite. Afterwards: Had a great weekend of music and visiting friends. Photo of the 2006 gang.

   Afterwards: There was a heavy rain all afternoon, but we had a good time playing under the gazebo for a small audience under the adjacent tent. One couple got up and danced with umbrellas. Too wet to get cameras out for photos, though.
