The Joel Lane Museum House is Raleigh's oldest house (early
1770s) and the birthplace of North Carolina's Capital. Food
provided by Irregardless Cafe, and beer by the Boylan Bridge Brew Pub.

Alleghany
County Fiddlers' Convention, Sparta, N.C. Once again Becky and
Robin hosted a great weekend, and we made the cut!. Photos

Capitol Birthday Celebration,
Capitol Square, Downtown Raleigh. The event marks the 169th anniversary
of the Capitol,
with birthday cake and activities and games. We'll be outside on the square, and will
play some of the tunes heard at parties and galas around Raleigh when
the Capitol was dedicated in 1840.

Raleigh, 6 PM. This is a benefit for the Alliance of Aids Services - Carolina.
We'll play the wine reception 6-7 PM. After a buffet dinner, the Greg Gelb
Band (eight piece swing band) will provide dance music until 10 PM.

Hill. We'll visit Bill
Ferris's class on Southern Music at 8 AM, and play a public

(Memorial Day Weekend). Fiddler's Grove, Union Grove,
N.C. We won't play as a band on stage, but some of us may be
playing with Ivan Mann's Hard Cider String Band, and there will be a

the Department of Horticultural Science at N.C. State University. Afterwards:
There was a heavy rain all afternoon, but we had a good time playing
under the gazebo for a small audience under the adjacent tent. One
couple got up and danced with umbrellas. Too wet to get cameras out for
photos, though.
